SermonMP3s.com was founded in 2007 by Alex Markley to help small-to-medium churches get their sermon audio on the Internet, using the most cutting-edge technology and the lowest possible prices.

But that's not where the story began...

In 1999, Alex (Malex) Markley and a small group of his friends began working together to create family-friendly art and entertainment, and the Malex Media Network™ was born. Creating a wide variety of entertainment media, the group was constantly searching for new ways of cost-effectively making it available to the general public.

During the early months of 2005, Alex Markley decided to solve the media distribution problem once and for all by developing the general purpose media distribution system that would eventually become MalexMedia.Net.™

In November 2005, MalexMedia.Net™ was finally launched, and the Malex Media Network™ began distributing media. Along with all of the music, fiction, and videos that were quickly added came the Malex Media Network's™ first batch of sermons. As a service to his church - New Song Community Church in Reynoldsburg, Ohio - Alex Markley agreed to host their weekly sermons on MalexMedia.Net™ at no charge.

During the course of the following year, Alex Markley developed a strong vision of service to the Bible-believing churches across the nation, so he sought to make the critical improvements that would be necessary for the Malex Media Network's™ "general purpose media distribution system" to be truly valuable to every small- and medium-sized church.

In June, 2006, the Malex Media Network™ was registered as an LLC with the State of Ohio, and the team continued to improve the system. Using feedback from church leaders and listeners alike, Alex Markley painstakingly developed every feature that SermonMP3s.com offers.

By December 2006, Church of Christ at Alexandria in Alexandria, Ohio had joined the beta test, followed quickly by LifeSpring Community Church in Saint Peters, Missouri.
